So Sleepy

First Swim

Today was a great family day, ending with a dip in the neighborhood pool...Danielle's first swim! She seemed to enjoy it and we enjoyed experiencing this "first" with Danielle!

Stats

Today we went to the doctor for Danielle's two-month appointment. We have a healthy growing baby girl on our hands! She was 13 lbs., 6 oz (95%);23 1/4 inches long (97%). The doctor's comment was, "She is the size of an average 3 1/2 month old."

While there, Danielle had her first round of shots. She was a trooper through it all and when we got home, she was deliriously happy! She then went into sleepy-land, sleeping the afternoon away.

2 months old

Danielle was really excited about her 2 month birthday as noted in her picture. She was movin' and groovin' as the pictures were taken. This somewhat captures how fun she is these days! She smiles, moves her arms and legs wildly, scoots around, coos, gives little "mini-laughs", and so much more. Some of her favorite things these days include: Sitting on the porch and reading books, taking walks, being talked to about anything (even actuarial things as Nate teaches her at an early age about stochastic modeling...huh?), spending time in her Gymani, and cuddling.

It has been a fantastic 8 weeks with her and we thoroughly enjoy venturing through the world, seeing it through Danielle's eyes. It is so exciting!

I went to the zoo!

Danielle had her first zoo experience today and she really enjoyed it. We arrived pretty close to feeding time, so many of the animals were out and about. It was quite fun for all of us as we saw them moving around, eating, "bathing" in mud, and so much more. Many of the animals that we read and talk about were out today and, of course, mom was making tons of animal sounds as we walked along so she had more of her senses being stimulated. :)

Looking at all the animals must have taken a lot of energy out of her as she slept from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m....her longest sleep period yet! We hope to return to the zoo again soon with daddy!

Saturday morning, Nate ran in a 10k, so Danielle and I decided to be his cheerleaders! It was Danielle's first trip downtown and it proved to be a great day to be downtown...beautiful weather, her dad ran a great race, and she had a little nap along the way...what could be better? :)

Our time downtown did not end with the race. We went to LePeep for breakfast and rounded out the day with a tour of the new home of the Colts - Lucas Oil Stadium. It was a wonderful day as a family!

Smiles!

Our little girl is changing so much every day. We just can't believe it has been 7 weeks already!

Adventures with the Spanglers

My sister, Erica, and her family stayed in town for the week following the baptism. Danielle had a lot of "firsts" while they were here. She took her first trip to the local water park with her cousins, Ellie & Matthew. I think daddy was into it a bit more than Danielle. :) We definitely got wet while there (whether we wanted to or not!) We went to the Children's Museum on Wednesday where Danielle was pushed around by her cousin, Matthew. It was a great week of adventures!

Weekend with family

We had a wonderful celebration with friends and family as we celebrated Danielle's baptism. We always find that time with friends and family is too short, yet so enjoyable! It was an absolutely wonderful day and weekend.

As Pastor Luther talked to us about teaching the Christian faith to Danielle, I couldn't help but stand there in awe that God would entrust this precious child to our care. It is a great gift and blessing to be a parent...even more, it is a great gift and blessing to be able to share the message of Jesus with Danielle. We are even more thankful that we do not have to navigate this journey on our own!

Here are just a few pictures from the weekend!
